Randy is a long time Southern California sportscaster who has worked as a play-by-play voice for NBC on three Olympic games. Randy has been a play-by-play sports announcer for Time Warner in Los Angeles, calling hundreds of local events every year. He is perhaps best known for his dramatic call at the 2004 Olympics when he declared "The Drought is over!" when the USA Men's rowing team finally earned a long-awaited gold medal.
Randy currently can be heard on television as the play-by-play voice for KDOC TV LA on "Basketball Game of the Week" package, the host of "Against the Spread" a nationally syndicated radio football show that Discussing college and pro football. In addition to that, Randy is currently a co-host for "Friday Night Live" L.A.times weekly internet show, featuring weekly interviews with prep athlete of the week in SoCal. Randy is also the lead Play By Play youth sports announcer for JD Media and television channel LA36, calling action for youth sports and prep sports for football, basketball and baseball.
As a youth, Randy was All Star little league outfielder. Later all league shot putter at North Hollywood High School with a best of 51ft 8 inches. Randy also participated in Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest and tied 5th in qualifying event. Did not qualify for Coney Island with 12 hot dogs in 10 minutes. He is a nephew of light heavyweight boxing champion Slapsie Maxie Rosenbloom and Co- wrote on script of Slapsie's life story. Randy’s favorite athlete’s include Sandy Koufax, Julius Erving, Paul George and Tom Brady.
